Biblia Academy of Sacred Sciences (BASS), founded by Maniparambil Anthony Jose (Father Jose Maniparampil) originally under the name Bible Commission in 1990 in the territory of the Catholic Diocese of Irinjalakuda, in the state of Kerala, India, is a voluntary ecclesiastical concern for promoting Christian values and treasures of the great religions of the world. His holiness John Paul II, when he visited India in 2000, wrote in the Visitors’ Diary, “A civilization that tends to be exclusivistic will not stand the test of time.” Deriving inspiration from this daring statement, we aim at a convergence of the admirable significance of all religious traditions such as Christian, Hindu, Muslim etcetera for a harmonious existence on eternal values mainly through literature, conscientization programs, faith formation for the adults and value education for the professionals.
